Two Bangladeshi Nationals Kidnapped in India and Rescued by Dhubri Police
Dhubri, May 25, 2024: In a bizzare situation, two Bangladeshi nationals were kidnapped by a group of miscreants on May 23, 2024, in the Aminarchar area of Dhubri, Assam, India and demanded an amount of rupees 15 lakh ransom and threatened to kill if the victims were unable to pay the amount.
The kidnappers were caught red-handed by Dhubri police during the ransom settlement, which was supposed to pay by the victims family through hawala transaction in India. Both the victims taking benefits of the situation informed to the nearest Bazar Town Police Out Post.
The victims were identified as Rabiul Islam, 27 years old resident of Mahalguri police station village Islampur under district Jamalpur and Mostofa Kamal, 36 years old resident of Faridpur Sadar under district Faridpur of Bangladesh. The abduction suspects were apprehended and the kidnapped individuals were successfully rescued as a result of the police’s prompt action.
The police personnel apprehended four accused persons who were involved in the crime scene identified as Akabar Ali, Shahalom, Asmat Ali and Askad Ali resident of Aminarchar. Inquiry into the matter is under investigation.
