Assam Rifles and Police Collaborate to Seize Rs 9.6 Crore Worth of Heroin in Zokhawthar Operation
Desk Report, March 07, 2024: In a significant breakthrough against smuggling activities, a joint effort between the Assam Rifles and the Police Department in Zokhawthar, Mizoram, resulted in the confiscation of 1376 grams of Heroin No. 4, known for its purity. The operation, conducted along the Indo-Myanmar border in Zokhawthar, Champhai district, yielded a haul with an estimated value of Rs 9.6 Crore.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the coordinated operation led to the apprehension of an individual identified as Lalpekthanga. The seized contraband, along with the arrested individual, was promptly handed over to the Police Department in Zokhawthar for further legal proceedings.
