STF Assam Seizes Heroin in Khanapara Raid; Suspect Apprehended with Drugs and Cash
Guwahati: Acting on reliable intelligence, a Special Task Force (STF) team from Assam Police conducted a raid in Khanapara under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station, Guwahati. During this operation, officers apprehended an individual found in possession of 21 vials of heroin, with a total weight of 28 grams. Alongside the drugs, the team also seized a mobile phone and an unspecified amount of cash.
The raid was carried out as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive to curb drug trafficking in the region. The STF launched the operation following detailed information about suspected illegal drug activities in Khanapara, a key area under Guwahati’s Basistha Police jurisdiction. Officers moved swiftly, securing the suspect and collecting evidence, including the heroin vials, which were carefully packaged.
The seized items, which include the heroin, the mobile device, and cash, were documented and taken into police custody. This bust marks another significant success in Assam’s heightened efforts to dismantle drug networks and secure the area against narcotic threats.
