Police Arrests Drug Peddler in Maligaon, Seizes Heroin and Cash in Crackdown
Guwahati: In a recent crackdown on illegal drug activities, the West Guwahati Police District, operating through Jalukbari Police Station and the Crime Branch, successfully apprehended a suspected drug peddler in Maligaon. The individual, identified as 27-year-old Md. Nasiruddin from Bilasipara, was found in possession of narcotics and other incriminating items.
During the operation, Police officials seized two soap cases filled with suspected heroin, weighing approximately 78 grams. In addition to the heroin, officers also seized a mobile phone, a two-wheeler (Scooty), and ₹8,900 in cash. Authorities believe that these items may be connected to local drug distribution networks.
The arrest marks another step forward in the police’s efforts to curb the drug trade in the area. The seized narcotics and other items are now being analyzed as part of an ongoing investigation.
