NFR’s Special Trains to Ease Festival Travel for Chhath Puja and Beyond
Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the operation of special trains for the Chhath Puja and other festival celebrations. The decision comes as a response to the anticipated surge in travelers, with devotees journeying to the Ganga River for the holy ritual.
Chhath Puja Special Trains Between Katihar and Manihari
To accommodate Chhath Puja travelers, NFR will run two pairs of additional DEMU special trains on the Katihar-Manihari route. This service, running from November 2 to November 6, 2024, will facilitate the flow of devotees heading to Manihari for river baths during the Chhath festivities.
Train Schedule:
– Katihar to Manihari: First trip from November 2 to November 5, 2024, departing at 21:15 and arriving at 22:00. Second trip from November 3 to November 6, departing at 01:30 and arriving at 02:15.
– Manihari to Katihar: First trip from November 2 to November 5, departing at 23:45 and arriving at 00:30. Second trip from November 3 to November 6, departing at 04:00 and arriving at 04:45.
Both trips will halt at Manshahi and Mahiyarpur stations, ensuring convenient boarding points for passengers.
Agartala to Secunderabad Festival Special Train
For long-distance travelers, NFR will operate a one-way festival special train (Train No. 05629) from Agartala to Secunderabad. This train is scheduled to leave Agartala on November 3, 2024, at 06:20, stopping at key stations including Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, and Malda Town before reaching Secunderabad on November 5.
Train Schedule:
– Agartala Departure: 06:20 AM
– Kamakhya: Arrives at 19:58, departs at 20:00 (same day)
– New Bongaigaon: Arrives at 23:00, departs at 23:05
– Malda Town: Arrives at 06:50, departs at 07:00 (next day)
– Secunderabad Arrival: November 5 at 16:15
This special service will halt at various important stations like Guwahati, Rampur Hat, Khurda Road, and Vijayawada, catering to the needs of passengers from multiple regions.
The Agartala-Secunderabad train will include AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper class, and general second-class coaches to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers. NFR is committed to ensuring a smooth and safe journey for travelers during the festival season.
These additional services aim to reduce congestion and make travel more accessible for people partaking in the celebrations.
