Karimganj Police Seize 32,700 Bottles of Contraband Cough Syrup in Anti-Narcotics Operations
Desk Report, September 20, 2024: In the early hours, Karimganj Police conducted two successful anti-narcotics operations based on reliable inputs. These operations were carried out under Patharkandi Police Station and led to a major seizure. Authorities recovered 32,700 bottles of contraband codeine phosphate cough syrup, each containing 100 ml.
The swift action highlighted the ongoing efforts by Assam Police to combat illegal drug trafficking in the region. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the significant achievement on the micro-blogging platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). He praised the Karimganj Police, stating, “Good job Assam Police.”
