Fake LPG Franchise Operation Busted by Guwahati Police in Central Plaza
Guwahati: In a major crackdown, a Central Guwahati Police District team from Pan Bazaar Police Station exposed a fake LPG franchise operation targeting unsuspecting residents. The police raided two offices—one in Central Plaza, Fancy Bazaar, and another in Upasana Complex, Ulubari, both in Guwahati.
The company, operating under the name Expresco Gulf Gas, allegedly sold fraudulent LPG franchise licenses and offered LPG connections, deceiving several people in the process. Police officials reported that numerous incriminating items were recovered from the premises. These include mobile phones, computers, critical documents, and other business accessories used in the scheme.
The seized materials are expected to help authorities understand the extent of the fraud and identify additional victims or accomplices. This swift action reflects the police’s commitment to tackling financial frauds impacting the city’s residents. Further investigations are ongoing, and officials have urged the public to be cautious of unauthorized companies offering similar services.
