Husband Arrested in Guwahati After Allegedly Murdering Wife and Disposing of Body in Pieces
Guwahati, April 07, 2024: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the Jyotikuchi area of Guwahati, a husband has been accused of murdering his wife and dismembering her body into three pieces. The harrowing episode unfolded in the Dhopoli area of Jyotikuchi, near Barsapara.
Officials from the Fatasil Police Department in Guwahati have confirmed the arrest of the accused husband. He was apprehended while allegedly attempting to dispose of the severed body parts. The suspect has been identified as Lakshman Biswas.
According to police sources, Biswas had planned to discard the body parts on the road. However, his efforts were thwarted when a police patrol team spotted him in the act and subsequently took him into custody.
The victim has been identified as Dipali Poddar.
Upon interrogation, the accused husband reportedly confessed to the heinous crime. He further elaborated that his actions were motivated by his wife’s alleged involvement in an illicit extra-marital relationship.
In light of the confession, the Fatasil Police have formally arrested Lakshman Biswas on charges of murder. He is currently being processed for further legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
