Electrocution During Rath Yatra in Bogura Claims 5 Lives, Injures 30
Desk Report, July 07, 2024: A tragic incident during the Rath Yatra in Bogura, Bangladesh, claimed the lives of at least five people on Sunday evening. Reports indicate they died from electrocution. Another 30 individuals were critically injured and hospitalized.
The incident occurred around 5:30 PM. The top of the chariot contacted an overhead electric wire, just 25-30 minutes after the Rath Yatra began. Victims, including women and children, collapsed before anyone realized what had happened.
This tragedy took place at the Seujgari Amatala intersection in Bogura city. All victims were quickly taken to a hospital in Bogura for treatment.
