Assam STF Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking, Seizes Heroin in Guwahati Raids
Guwahati, September 01, 2024: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam conducted multiple successful operations, leading to the seizure of heroin and the arrest of several suspects in Guwahati. Acting on a tip-off, STF officers targeted key locations to disrupt drug trafficking activities.
In the first operation at GS Road under Paltanbazar Police Station, the STF team arrested a suspect with six soap boxes containing 79.5 grams of heroin. The officers also seized cash and a mobile handset during the operation.
Another STF team carried out a raid at 2 No. Railway Gate under Panbazar Police Station, based on reliable input. They apprehended a suspect with 42 vials of heroin, weighing 55.5 grams. Additionally, the officers seized cash and a mobile handset from the suspect.
In a third operation, the STF raided Kalipur Railway Line under Bharalumukh Police Station. This led to the arrest of two individuals, who were found in possession of 11 vials of heroin, weighing 17 grams. Cash and a mobile phone were also seized in this operation.
