Assam Government Transfers ₹510 Crore to Support 25,000 Entrepreneurs Under CMAAA
Guwahati: The Assam government has transferred ₹510 crore directly into the bank accounts of 25,000 budding entrepreneurs under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) initiative. This substantial financial boost aims to fulfill the aspirations of Assam’s citizens and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit.
The CMAAA initiative stands as the largest government effort to support entrepreneurship in Assam. During the 2021 elections, the BJP promised the youth of Assam two significant opportunities: 1 lakh government jobs and support for 2 lakh entrepreneurs. The CMAAA is now making these promises a reality by offering much-needed assistance.
The CMAAA scheme provides a unique, two-fold financial aid structure. Each selected entrepreneur receives ₹1 lakh as government support, which is non-refundable, along with an additional ₹1 lakh as a bank loan. Upon successfully running their business ventures, these entrepreneurs will also qualify for further assistance under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana.
The CMAAA initiative goes beyond just financial assistance. It includes a comprehensive training module to guide the entrepreneurs on their journey. A batch of highly trained individuals, known as CM Fellows, has been engaged to mentor and guide the selected entrepreneurs in operating their businesses. A special training program has also been arranged to provide all-round support, ensuring that these ventures remain sustainable and thrive.
The program focuses on harnessing the skills and strengths of Assam’s poor and middle-class citizens, promoting self-reliance and a sense of entrepreneurship. With transparent recruitment, robust investment, and well-funded micro-startups, the CMAAA aims to propel Assam to greater heights in economic growth and development.
Through the CMAAA, the Assam government is not only providing financial support but also fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship. This initiative empowers the state’s youth, helping them realize their dreams and contribute to Assam’s economic progress.
