Tragic Incidents Rock Gossaigaon: Two Dead in Train Accidents Within 24 Hours
Gossaigaon, May 28, 2024: In a series of tragic events, Gossaigaon witnessed two fatal train accidents within a span of 24 hours, leaving the community in shock and grief.
The first incident occurred earlier today morning, when an unidentified man was struck by a train near the Tiniali railway gate, close to Gossaigaon railway station. The impact was so severe that the man was tragically dismembered, his body scattered into three pieces.
Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, with railway police initiating recovery efforts and launching an investigation into the heartbreaking incident.
Shortly after, another tragedy struck as a young man lost his life in a similar accident while attempting to cross the Simultapu railway gate in Gossaigaon. Identified as Rashidul Islam, the victim was the son of Amir Ali from Maktaigaon Part II of Gossaigaon Sub-Division. The force of the train was such that the young man was torn into two pieces upon impact.
Police promptly arrived at the scene, recovering the deceased’s body as the community grappled with the magnitude of the loss.
These back-to-back accidents have sent shockwaves throughout the Gossaigaon area, prompting a somber reflection on the importance of railway safety measures.
