Two Government Officials Caught red handed in Anti-Corruption Sting by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption
Agomani, April 02, 2024: In a significant development today, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has apprehended two officials from the Office of the Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO), Golakganj, Dhubri, in a bribery case.
Dapendra Nath Brahma, Senior Assistant at the BEEO, was caught red-handed along with Mr. Naba Krishna Roy, the Block Elementary Education Officer, Golakganj, Dhubri. They were found conspiring to accept a bribe in exchange for updating the service book of a complainant.
Both officials have been taken into custody for their involvement in the corrupt act. This operation marks another successful trap set up by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, aimed at curbing corruption within government departments. Earlier the day an Accountant of O/o the District Agricultural Officer, Jorhat was trapped red handed for accepting bribe.
Further investigations are underway, and the Directorate reaffirms its commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in public service across the region.
