Tragedy Strikes: Two Labourers Killed in Brick Kiln Collapse
Dhubri, March 15, 2024: Tragedy struck at a Brick Kiln in Malgaon, Kokrajhar district, adjacent to Bilasipara, claiming the lives of two labourers, including a woman, in a devastating guard wall collapse. The incident unfolded as four labourers were engaged in brickwork, causing the guard wall to give way, trapping them beneath the rubble.
Swift action ensued as the kiln owner utilized a JCB to extricate the trapped workers, promptly transporting them to Bilasipara Model Hospital. Despite efforts, one labourer succumbed to injuries upon arrival. Three others, in critical condition, were transferred to Dhubri Medical College & Hospital and Kokrajhar Civil Hospital for advanced treatment, where tragically, another labourer passed away during treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Hasina Bibi and Suraman Ali. Local residents have voiced grievances, attributing such accidents to the alleged negligence of brick kiln owners. Calls for a thorough investigation by the district administration have intensified.
Meanwhile, Police officials, accompanied by Kokrajhar circle officers, have initiated inquiries at the scene to determine the cause of the incident.
