STF Assam Seizes 45 Grams of Heroin in Dispur and Basistha Raids, Three Arrested
Guwahati: In a major operation to combat drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam launched pre-dawn raids today at multiple locations under the jurisdictions of Dispur and Basistha Police Stations. Acting on reliable source information, the STF conducted simultaneous raids and apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in narcotics smuggling.
During the operation, the team seized 45 grams of heroin, a mobile phone, cash, and other incriminating articles. Additionally, 74 empty vials, likely used for packaging drugs, were found at the scene, further indicating the involvement of the suspects in drug distribution. Two vehicles, believed to have been used for the transportation of illegal substances, were also seized by the police.
The raids were conducted in a well-coordinated manner, with STF officials meticulously planning the operation to ensure the capture of the suspects without any resistance. The seized heroin is of significant value in the illegal drug market, and the arrest of these three individuals marks a significant breakthrough in Assam’s fight against the drug menace. The names of the accused have not been released as the investigation is still in its early stages.
