Epic Cricket Match: SRH Beats RCB in Bengaluru Showdown
Sports Desk, April 16, 2024: In a record-breaking match in Bengaluru, Pat Cummins thwarted Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) sensational 288-run chase despite a gallant 81 from Dinesh Karthik, as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clinched a 25-run victory.
The encounter witnessed the highest aggregate score in a T20 match, with an astounding 549 runs amassed across two innings. Moreover, it saw a joint-highest tally of sixes in a T20 game, with both teams collectively smashing 38 maximums.
SRH, led by a scintillating century from Travis Head and a rapid 67 from Heinrich Klaasen, surpassed their own record for the highest-ever IPL total by posting an imposing 287/3 against RCB. Faf du Plessis, captain of RCB, had won the toss and elected to field first at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.
With three wins and two losses in five games, SRH currently sit in the fourth position on the points table. In contrast, RCB find themselves at the bottom with just one win from six outings in the tournament so far.
In terms of head-to-head clashes, the visiting team holds a slight advantage. RCB have emerged victorious 10 times, while SRH have claimed victory 11 times. However, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB have dominated, winning five out of the seven matches played against SRH.
