Dhubri Police Seize Five Smuggled Cattle in Night Operation
Dhubri, May 15, 2024: Acting on a tip-off, Dhubri police successfully intercepted and seized five smuggled cattle along with a luxury vehicle bearing the registration number AS 16D 9534. The operation took place last night as the cattle were being transported from West Bengal towards Dhubri via Gauripur, culminating in a seizure at Falimari Ghat.
The smugglers, utilizing a luxury vehicle to covertly transport the cattle, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene upon realizing the arrival of the police. The police subsequently seized the vehicle along with the cattle and transported both to Dhubri police station.
This incident highlights an ongoing issue of cattle smuggling into Dhubri from outside the state. Police are intensifying their efforts to combat such illegal activities and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Further investigations are underway to apprehend the smugglers involved in this operation. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may contribute to illegal smuggling operations.
