Northeast Frontier Railway Announces Festival Special Trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja
Guwahati: To ease passenger congestion during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will run special trains connecting key destinations. These festival trains will provide additional travel options and ensure smooth transit for travelers during the busy festive season.
The routes will cover major locations, including Tatanagar Junction, Katihar, Ranchi, Purnea Court, and Gomti Nagar, with specific schedules and facilities to accommodate passenger demand.
Tatanagar-Katihar Special Services
– Train No. 08181: Departs from Tatanagar Junction on November 4 and 11, 2024, at 22:40, reaching Katihar at 15:15 the next day.
– Train No. 08182: Returns from Katihar on November 5 and 12, 2024, at 19:40, arriving in Tatanagar at 10:00 the following morning.
This service will feature 20 coaches, including AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper, general second-class, luggage vans, and a pantry car. Key halts include Chandil, Purulia, Asansol, Madhupur, Jhajha, and Mansi Junction.
Ranchi-Purnea Court Special Trains
– Train No. 08626: Leaves Ranchi on November 3 and 10, 2024, at 18:00, arriving at Purnea Court at 11:00 the next day.
– Train No. 08625: Departs from Purnea Court on November 4 and 11, 2024, at 12:10, reaching Ranchi by 05:30 the next morning.
This service includes 15 coaches with AC 3-tier, sleeper, general class, and SLRD coaches. Key stops include Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Asansol, and Katihar.
Katihar-Gomti Nagar Special Train
– Train No. 05738: Departs Katihar every Monday from November 4 to November 25, 2024, at 11:25, reaching Gomti Nagar at 07:15 the next day.
– Train No. 05737: Returns from Gomti Nagar every Tuesday from November 5 to November 26, 2024, at 09:30, arriving in Katihar at 05:00 the next morning.
This train will have 22 coaches, including AC 3-tier, sleeper, general class, and GSLRD coaches. Major halts include Naugachia, Barauni, Hajipur, Gorakhpur, and Ayodhya Dham.
Given the high demand during the festive season, passengers are encouraged to book tickets early. NFR’s initiative aims to make travel more convenient, ensuring an enjoyable journey during Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations.
