Mohanlal Hospitalized in Kochi for Respiratory Infection Following L2: Empuraan Shoot
Desk Report, August 18, 2024: Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal, 64, has been admitted to the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi after experiencing severe breathing difficulties and muscle pain. The actor, who recently returned from Gujarat after completing the shoot for ‘L2: Empuraan’, developed high-grade fever and generalized myalgia, leading to concerns over his health.
According to an official statement from the hospital, shared by industry insider Sreedhar Pillai, Mohanlal’s symptoms are consistent with a viral respiratory infection. The medical team has recommended a course of medication and a five-day rest period, with strict advice to avoid crowded areas during his recovery.
Mohanlal’s condition reportedly deteriorated after his return to Kochi, necessitating his hospitalization. He remains under close observation and is said to be on the mend.
