Two Arrested in Manipur with Suspected Heroin Powder and Vehicle Seized
Desk Report, April 09, 2024: In a significant development, Manipur Police apprehended two individuals on April 08 identified as Khaying Longvah (44) of Ukhrul and Ngahanyui Kashung (37) of Kamjong, Imphal East District.
During the operation, Manipur Police seized a substantial quantity of suspected heroin powder weighing approximately 1 kilogram from the possession of the arrested individuals. Additionally, one vehicle was also seized by the police.
The arrests come as part of the ongoing efforts by Manipur Police to curb the illicit drug trade in the region. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the seized heroin and to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the narcotics trade.
Both Khaying Longvah and Ngahanyui Kashung are currently in police custody and will be facing charges as per the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
