Major Narcotics Bust in Adabari: STF Raids Brahmaputra Lodge, Arrests Four
Guwahati, April 05, 2024: In a significant operation led by the Special Task Force (STF) under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Kr. Pathak, a raid was conducted on the Brahmaputra Lodge in Adabari. Acting on intelligence indicating the presence of a group of narcotics peddlers from Dimapur, the STF successfully apprehended the suspects involved in supplying narcotics to Azara, Mirza, and various areas of South Kamrup.
The raid, which took place in Room no 102 of the lodge, culminated in the arrest of four individuals – two men and two women. A substantial quantity of suspected heroin was seized during the operation, meticulously concealed inside soap boxes. The total weight of the confiscated substance was determined to be 257 grams, excluding the packaging.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jadav Bhawal (42) and Bhaswati Gowala (45) from Karbi Along, and Priyanka Das (30) and Deba Das (19) from Nagaland.
Legal proceedings against the accused are underway as the STF intensifies its crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the region.
