Security Forces Apprehend Kuki Liberation Army Cadre in Churachandpur, Manipur
Desk Report, March 29, 2024: In a significant operation on March 28, security forces apprehended a cadre affiliated with the Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) in Bijang, Sangaikot, Churachandpur district of Manipur. The arrested individual has been identified as Minsy.
During the arrest, a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition was seized from Minsy’s possession. The recovered items include one 7.62 SLR with a magazine, one AK-56 rifle, one magazine of INSAS 5.56 mm, a BPJ cover containing two BP plates, and a total of two hundred and sixteen live rounds of ammunition.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Minsy was actively involved in extortion activities along the road leading to Chandel District.
A case has been officially registered by the Manipur Police, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the full extent of his activities and possible connections within the region.
