A trio of notorious drug mafias – Sohail Ahmed, Jamil Hussain, and Zahirul Islam – were apprehended with narcotics valued at approximately Rs 4 crore.
Acting on a credible tip-off, Karimganj Police launched a targeted anti-narcotics operation in the Ratabari area, near the Assam-Mizoram border. The operation, prompted by confidential information, resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of drugs concealed within luxury vehicles.
The arrested individuals, Sohail Ahmed, Jamil Hussain, and Zahirul Islam, were promptly identified by the Karimganj Police. The operation led to the discovery of 12 soap boxes containing heroin and a staggering 19,800 YABA tablets hidden in secret compartments within the vehicles.
