Authorities Seize Rs 10 Lakh in Joint Operation at Chagolia on Assam-Bengal Border
Agomani, April 15, 2024: In a coordinated on April 14, effort between Chagolia police and the Flying Squad, a substantial sum of Rs 10 lakh was seized at the Chagolia checkpoint situated on the Assam-Bengal border within Dhubri district. The operation, conducted with precision and diligence, led to the interception of the currency from a passenger bus bearing the registration number WB 63A 1657. This bus was en route from Coochbehar to Goalpara.
The seized amount was traced back to an individual identified as Debjit Paul. Hailing from Kotwali in CoochBehar, West Bengal, Mr. Paul was found to be in possession of the aforementioned sum. The intervention by law enforcement not only prevented the potential illicit movement of funds but also underscored the significance of collaborative efforts in combating unlawful activities along interstate borders.
