Guwahati Cyber Police Recover ₹46.88 Lakhs in OLX and Online Investment Scams
Guwahati, August 11, 2024: In a significant operation, the Cyber Police Station of Guwahati Police has successfully recovered a substantial amount of money from two separate online scam cases.
In the first instance, the police recovered ₹87,000 out of ₹90,000 that a victim lost in an OLX scam. The recovered amount has been credited back to the victim’s account.
In another recovery, the Cyber Police team secured ₹46.01 lakhs for a victim from AT Road, Guwahati, who had been defrauded of ₹2.44 crores in a fake online investment scam. The recovered funds were credited in two instalments of ₹23.97 lakhs and ₹22.04 lakhs. Efforts are ongoing to recover more funds and return them to the victim.
The Guwahati Cyber Police’s swift actions underscore their commitment to tackling cybercrime and ensuring that victims receive justice.
