Silchar, February 08, 2024: In a significant crackdown today, Cachar Police executed a targeted operation on 07.02.24 to curb the illicit transportation of narcotics at Fulertol, Lakhipur. The operation resulted in the apprehension of a suspect, Ms. Nengcha Hmar, 35 years old, wife of late Paoginlin Hmar, hailing from Vill-Phaitol, P.S-Jiribam, Dist-Jiribam, Manipur.
The police seized a substantial haul, including fifty soap boxes, suspected to contain approximately 700 grams of heroin, from Ms. Hmar’s possession. The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be around 5 (five) crores in the black market.

The illegal transportation route was traced back to Jiribam district in Manipur, raising concerns about the widespread network of narcotics trade.
