Cachar Police Apprehend Two Drug Peddlers at Digharkhal Toll Gate, Seize 69 Grams of Suspected Heroin
In a targeted operation based on intelligence, Cachar Police intercepted a vehicle at Digharkhal Toll Gate, seizing 69 grams of suspected heroin. The vehicle, registered as AS 01 AM 0131, was stopped after a tip-off alerted authorities about possible narcotics trafficking in the area.
The two apprehended suspects, identified as Rassul Hussain Laskar from Singirbon Pt-III and Rebul Hussain Barbhuiya from Baskandi Pt-III, both in Cachar district, were found in possession of seven plastic containers suspected to contain heroin. Cachar Police is currently investigating the origin of the substances and potential links to wider narcotics networks.
This operation highlights Cachar Police’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region, reflecting Assam’s intensified stance against illegal drugs. The arrested individuals remain in custody as further inquiries proceed.
