BJP Unveils Initial Candidates for Assam in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Desk Report, March 02, 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially disclosed its preliminary list of candidates for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, shedding light on the prominent individuals poised to represent the party in Assam. The roster features frontrunners carefully selected to vie for victory in various constituencies across the state.
According to the BJP’s announcement, the list includes the following candidates for key Lok Sabha seats:
– Guwahati Lok Sabha seat: Bijuli Kalita Medhi
– Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat: Sarbananda Sonowal
– Kaziranga Lok Sabha seat: Kamakhya Prasad Tasa
– Jorhat Lok Sabha seat: Tapan Gogoi
– Tezpur Lok Sabha seat: Ranjit Dutta
– Darang-Udalguri Lok Sabha seat: Dilip Saikia
– Karimganj Lok Sabha seat: Kripanath Mallah
– Silchar Lok Sabha seat: Parimal Suklabaidya
– Nagaon Lok Sabha seat: Suresh Bora
– Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat: Pradan Barua
– Diphu Lok Sabha seat: Amar Singh Tiso
In a strategic move, the BJP plans to contest 11 out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam. The remaining seats are earmarked for its allies, with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) securing Barpeta and Dhubri, while the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) claims Kokrajhar.
Expressing confidence in the upcoming elections, the BJP anticipates a promising performance as it sets the stage for a dynamic political landscape in Assam.
