AIUDF Supremo Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal Sparks Controversy with Explosive Remarks at Election Rally in Gauripur
Dhubri, April 29, 2024: In a politically charged rally held at Baladmara in Gauripur, Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal, the Supremo of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Member of Parliament, ignited a firestorm with his incendiary comments targeting various political figures. Among his targets was Akhil Gogoi, Chief of the Raijor Dal and sitting MLA from Sibsagar.
During the rally, Ajmal did not mince words, accusing Akhil Gogoi, along with Gaurav Gogoi and Rakibul Hussain, of engaging in activities deemed unfit for public office, such as alcoholism and gambling. However, it was Ajmal’s assertion regarding Akhil Gogoi’s purported conversion to Islam that drew considerable attention. Ajmal claimed that Gogoi had embraced Islam and suggested that all that remained was for him to recite the Kalimas, the Islamic declaration of faith, a task Ajmal offered to personally oversee.
Furthermore, Ajmal did not spare Gogoi from political castigation, branding him as a “false man” and alleging his collusion with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by referring to him as a “Dalal.” These allegations further fueled the ongoing verbal sparring between opposing political factions in the Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency.
Responding to inquiries about the impending visit of Priyanka Gandhi to the Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency, Ajmal’s remarks added another layer of intrigue. He expressed remorse over his age preventing him from witnessing Gandhi’s visit, insinuating his willingness to attend her event if he were younger.
The rally, characterized by Ajmal’s contentious statements, underscored the escalating tensions and heated exchanges dominating the political landscape in Assam as the election season progresses. Amidst mounting polarization, such remarks serve as a stark reminder of the fervent atmosphere gripping the region.
