Assam Cabinet Approves Special Recruitment Drive for 4,669 Contractual Teachers
Guwahati, September 13, 2024: The Assam Cabinet has given its nod to a significant amendment in the Assam Secondary Education (Government Schools) Service Rules, 2024. This update, along with changes to the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service Rules, 2024, will pave the way for a major recruitment initiative.
In an effort to address the shortage of teaching staff, a special recruitment drive will be launched. It aims to hire 4,669 additional contractual teachers across secondary schools in Assam. These teachers will work under the “Strengthen and improve the quality of Secondary Education in Assam” scheme. The decision focuses on improving the quality of education by bringing in experienced contractual teachers.
This recruitment move is expected to utilize the skills of existing contractual teachers while addressing teacher shortages in secondary schools. Consequently, it is set to positively impact the quality of education for students throughout Assam.
