Assam on Path to Become Global Electronics Hub: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates Tata Semiconductor Facility
Guwahati, August 03, 2024: Assam is poised to become the next global electronic hub. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently inaugurated the Bhumi Pujan of the Tata Semiconductor facility in Jagiroad in Morigaon district. He was joined by the Chairman of Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran.
This ₹27,000 crore plant promises to generate over 27,000 jobs. It is expected to attract a world-class industrial ecosystem, advancing India’s goal to become a global leader in new-age technology.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the determination of Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Shri Ratan Naval Tata ji, and the unwavering support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) led by Hon’ble Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji,” stated Chief Minister Sarma. He added, “Our people’s spirited faith in our Government drives us to chase dreams, set new benchmarks, and constantly strive for the better.”
The Tata Semiconductor facility marks a significant milestone for Assam and India, paving the way for substantial technological and economic advancements.
