Alert Assam Police Thwart Rohingya Infiltration Attempt at Bangladesh Border
In a swift and decisive operation, Assam Police intercepted a suspected Rohingya individual near the India-Bangladesh border. The incident occurred in Sribhumi district, previously known as Karimganj, during the early hours of the morning.
The individual, identified as Md. Ayatulla, was apprehended while attempting to cross the international boundary. Following standard procedures, authorities pushed him back across the border. This action underscores Assam Police’s vigilance in preventing illegal infiltration into the state.
Reacting to the successful operation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police team. Taking to his microblogging platform ‘X,’ he shared, “Our efforts to tackle illegal infiltration will continue unabated. Good job!”

In the wee hours today, one Rohingya, Md. Ayatulla was apprehended near the International Border with Bangladesh in Sribhumi district and pushed back across the border by alert @assampolice officials.
