Governor of Assam Declares Local Holiday on November 1 for Diwali in Kamrup Metro
Guwahati: The Governor of Assam has announced a local holiday on November 1, 2024, in the Kamrup (Metro) district for Diwali celebrations. All state government offices, educational institutions, and financial establishments within Kamrup (Metro) will observe this holiday, ensuring a festive respite for residents and workers.
This declaration, mandates the closure of all governmental facilities, including financial institutions regulated by Section 25 of the N.I. Act, 1881, as cited in a Ministry of Home Affairs notification dated June 8, 1957. The order reflects the district’s commitment to upholding cultural traditions and facilitating ease for individuals celebrating Diwali.
