Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Unveils ₹2050 Crore Investments, Anticipates 6,000 Job Openings
Desk Report, March 15, 2024: Assam’s drive for economic growth and job creation received a significant boost as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced investment agreements totaling ₹2050 crore. These agreements are set to pave the way for over 6,000 job opportunities within the state.
The unveiling of these agreements underscores Assam’s commitment to economic development and highlights the government’s efforts to spur job creation. Additionally, benefits will be extended to entrepreneurs as part of the CM Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan initiative.

Sarma’s announcement comes in the wake of his earlier predictions regarding the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam. The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, particularly in key constituencies across the state.
According to Sarma, BJP candidates are expected to secure substantial victories in constituencies such as Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Kaziranga, and Nagaon. Projections indicate significant support for the party, with anticipated vote counts ranging from 3 to 4 lakh in Jorhat and Dibrugarh. Kaziranga is also expected to rally behind the BJP, while in Nagaon, the party is predicted to secure between 50 thousand to 1 lakh votes.
