Assam Cabinet Approves 2025 Holidays: 37 Restricted, 36 Gazetted Days Announced
Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet has approved the official state holiday list for 2025. This list includes detailed segregation of holidays to streamline observances. It was finalized during the cabinet meeting held on November 26, 2024, presided over by key state leaders.
The holidays for 2025 have been categorized as follows:
– Gazetted Holidays: 36 days
– Restricted Holidays: 37 days
– Half Holidays: 1 day
– Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments (N.I.) Act: 18 days
Seven special events were included in the restricted holiday category:
1. Rongker Karkli (Rongker Puja): January 5, 2025
2. Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Jayanti: April 18, 2025
3. Matak Raja Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Divas: May 24, 2025
4. Sati Radhika Utsav: On Buddha Purnima
5. Nua Khai Festival: August 28, 2025
6. Wangala: November 7, 2025
7. Bir Raghav Moran Divas: November 19, 2025
The Cabinet also approved two special casual leave days on November 20 and 21, 2025, to observe Matri Pitri Vandana. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions.
