June 10, 2025: In a significant breakthrough, Cachar Police seized illegal drugs worth ₹45 crore in two swift operations. Acting on credible intelligence, the police recovered over 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets during the back-to-back anti-narcotics drives.

The operations were carried out in separate locations under the Cachar district. As a result, four individuals linked to the smuggling network were arrested. Officials confirmed that these operations are part of an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking in the region.

The seized Yaba tablets, a dangerous synthetic drug, were reportedly meant for cross-border smuggling. Police acted promptly to intercept the consignments before they could be transported further. The suspects are currently in custody and are being interrogated for more leads.

Authorities also hinted that more arrests may follow as investigations continue. The district police have increased surveillance and are working closely with intelligence agencies to dismantle the entire drug network.
