Manipur Police Conducts Successful Search Operations in Fringe and Vulnerable Areas
Desk Report, May 04, 2024: In recent operations carried out by the Manipur Police in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, significant recoveries have been made, underscoring the commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
During meticulous search operations conducted in Nakhujang Village Hill Range, Kangpokpi District, law enforcement authorities recovered substantial weaponry. Among the seized items were 01 Carbine Machine Gun with Magazine, 02 9mm Pistols with magazines, 02 HE-36 Hand grenades, 01 improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 500 grams, and 16 units of live ammunition. This confiscation marks a crucial step in curbing illicit arms proliferation and enhancing safety in the area.
Furthermore, in a separate incident in Sangaithel, Imphal West District, Manipur Police conducted another operation yielding notable results. The search operation led to the seizure of 01 Carbine Machine Gun with an empty magazine, 01 9mm Pistol with an empty magazine, 04 HE-36 grenades, 01 51 mm Mortar illumination shell, 01 2-inch Mortar Shell, 60 live ammunitions, and 02 Baofeng Radio Sets. These discoveries signify a proactive stance against criminal elements and reinforce the commitment to maintaining law and order.
