Manipur Police Seize Weapons Cache in Kangpokpi District
Desk Report, May 28, 2024: Manipur Police conducted a search operation in Kharam Vaiphei, Kangpokpi District. This led to the discovery of a significant weapons cache on May 27, 2024.
During the search, police found one .22 rifle with a magazine, one 9mm pistol with a magazine, and one 7.65mm pistol with a magazine. They also recovered an improvised mortar and two improvised projectile launchers. Additionally, two Sten grenades and a telescopic sight were seized.
The operation also uncovered two Baofeng radio sets, three 40mm UBGL fired shells, and 21 rounds of ammunition. These discoveries highlight the ongoing efforts to maintain security and peace in the region.
This successful operation demonstrates the vigilance and dedication of Manipur Police in tackling illegal arms and ensuring public safety.
