On December 9, 2023, the gang’s brutality came to public attention when Mithu Biswas was assaulted and left in critical condition near the Shillong bypass. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Mithu tragically succumbed to his injuries. The arrested individuals have been identified as Arun Das and Pinto Das from Ramkrishna Nagar, Azimuddin from Fatehpur, Jasimuddin from Patharkandi, and Raju Hussain Borbhuyan. The gang’s gruesome activities involved hiring vehicles, murdering the drivers, and stealing the cars.
