Sapatgram Forest Officials Dismantle Unauthorized Timber Mill in Bold Operation

Dhubri; June 15, 2025: In a major step against illegal timber trade, forest officials dismantled an unauthorized saw mill at Bamunigaon near Nayarhat on Saturday. The raid was carried out by the Sapatgram Forest Depot under Dhubri Forest Division.

The operation followed strict instructions from Divisional Forest Officer Golap Kr. Bania. Acting swiftly, the forest team, led by Sahabaz Sultan, In-Charge of Sapatgram Forest Depot, seized and dismantled the illegal mill.

The saw mill was running without permission and clearly violated forest regulations. The team ensured that all machinery were seized as evidence.

This action reflects the zero-tolerance policy adopted by the Dhubri Forest Division under DFO Bania’s leadership. Authorities stressed that they will continue cracking down on timber mafias and unlawful forest activities.

Such illegal operations threaten both the forest ecosystem and local biodiversity. So, the Forest Department has urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in their areas.

Officials assured that all necessary steps will be taken to protect forest resources and preserve environmental balance in the region.
