Illegal Band Saw Mill Dismantled in Bhelakoba Part III During Forest Department Crackdown
Dhubri, July 01, 2025: In a decisive action against illegal logging, the Dhubri Forest Division dismantled an unlawful band saw mill in the Bhelakoba Part III area. The operation was carried out by a team from the Sapatgram Forest Depot, led by In-Charge Sahabaz Sultan, under the directive of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Golap Kr. Bania.
This marks the third consecutive raid by the same team, demonstrating a clear commitment to curb forest crimes. During the series of operations within a month of taking charge, several vehicles loaded with illegal minor minerals were also seized. Additionally, valuable timber sourced unlawfully was recovered.
The forest department has adopted a strict no-tolerance stance towards forest-related offences. Both DFO Golap Kr. Bania and Sahabaz Sultan have been at the forefront of these enforcement actions.
Local residents have expressed appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the forest department. They welcomed the swift response to forest violations and expect similar actions if any future illegal activities are found.
The crackdown sends a strong message to forest mafias operating in the region. Authorities have reiterated their dedication to protect forest resources and maintain ecological balance.
