Mahua Das, Dhubri, February 06, 2024: In a commendable effort towards community welfare, the 19 Bn BSF, under Sector Dhubri, organized a Civic Action Programme from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM today at Takkimari L.P School in the remote village of Takkimari. The event, inaugurated by Commandant Sunil Soibam, witnessed the participation of Manish Kumar, Company Commander of BOP Takkamari, VDP members, Asha Workers, the lone school teacher, students, and approximately 200 villagers.
Stationary and sports items, including cricket bats, balls, writing pads, color pencils, sharpeners, skipping ropes, and carrom boards, were distributed to students, youths, and Asha Workers during the program. Commandant Sunil Soibam praised the enthusiasm and patriotic spirit of the students, encouraging them to contribute to the progress of the country through hard work. Stressing the importance of education, he urged parents to support their children’s studies and participation in sports activities for mental and physical growth. Commandant Soibam assured the local residents of BSF’s commitment to providing assistance for their well-being.
Following the program, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, a village coordination meeting took place at Takkimari L.P School, chaired by Commandant Sunil Soibam and attended by Manish Kumar, Company Commander of BOP Takkamari, along with 08 BSF personnel, VDP members, and around 100 villagers. The meeting delved into various aspects of a career in security forces, emphasizing national service, personal growth opportunities, and the sense of duty and honor associated with serving one’s country. The villagers raised concerns about the shortage of school teachers in the L.P school, with only one teacher for 116 students. Commandant Sunil Soibam assured prompt action on the matter, addressing the need for additional teachers to enhance the standard of education.
The villagers expressed profound happiness and sincere gratitude for the praiseworthy Civic Action Programme initiated by 19 Bn BSF. This positive response highlights the enduring contributions made by the BSF in uplifting and supporting the local community in various aspects of their lives.
