India Strikes Terror Camps Under ‘Operation Sindoor’ After Pahalgam Massacre

India Launches ‘Operation Sindoor’ to Target Terror Camps After Brutal Pahalgam Attack

May 07, 2025: In a bold and precise operation, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ to dismantle terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These camps had been linked to recent terror plots against India.

Nine terror locations were struck in a well-coordinated effort. Importantly, the targets were selected with care. No Pakistani military installations were hit. India’s actions remained focused, controlled, and clearly non-escalatory.

This decisive step followed the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, where 25 Indian tourists and one Nepali citizen were brutally killed. The attackers, trained by Pakistan and associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), executed the victims in a horrific manner—many shot at close range, directly in front of family members.

According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the brutality was intentional. Victims’ families were forced to witness the killings, traumatized deliberately, and told to carry the message back. The goal was clear—spread fear and provoke communal unrest both in Jammu & Kashmir and the rest of India.

The terror group The Resistance Front (TRF), a front for the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. It attempted to disturb the peace that had returned to Jammu and Kashmir. However, the Indian government and citizens stood united, refusing to fall into the trap of provocation.

Following the strikes, Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared a statement on social media platform ‘X’, saying: “Proud of our armed forces. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots.”

India’s response, through Operation Sindoor, demonstrates a clear message—those behind terror will face consequences. With strategic restraint and precise execution, the operation marks a significant counterterrorism step.
